Weave: Ganesh's Magical Journey to the Dimension, Consciousness.

Recently we have started a new project. The bias was based upon colour matching, to help us understand how important it is to be precise with colours and shades. From our palates we must create a minimum of 5 samples, using a range of techniques and materials. My lecturer asked me to find inspiration for my weave to give it true authenticity, luckily research comes naturally to me  and it was easy to find a theme. I chose Hinduism, The imagery is beautiful and full colour, however since this subject has been done many times in fashion I thought to give it a twist. Since I am very interested in vintage\retro themes as they strongly represent sub-culture and rebellion, I began to research more into 'Physcedelia'. I found some amazing imagery on the Internet and books full of funky artists, Bold colour and fluid graphics to make my project as trippy as possible!

Impressionist Behaviour

so, I have been working on a project at the moment about plants. Todays lesson consisted of me making samples, and having a bit of fun with them. With inspiration from henry rousseau i have created my own modern prints and imagery. Soon i will be experimenting further to extend my project and finalise on samples and colour.

Here comes the Rude boy Jamaican

Here comes the Rudeboy Jamaican

Last year I produced a two piece collection based around Rastafarian's, and how their religion has become more of a fashion statement. Here are a few shots of the end product !

Print allows you to explore all elemenst and concepts. Doing some research this artist grabbed my attention, his work consists of 60s psychedelia, 80s computer graphics, and a modern view of pop culture.

So, I have just stared my degree and in the last couple of weeks I have found some interesting things on the Internet. While putting together a concept board for a project I came across an artist who uses acrylic paint to create cool paintings with a modern psychedelic marble effect!

These paintings have given me a lot of inspiration... for more awesome paintings go to

Finding these made me look for similar artists, Jack Vasent using a range of mix media and similar methods to produce abstract amazing images
